Significantly more money re-circulates in our region when purchases are made at Lakewood-based businesses. Economic Development and Sustainability, in conjunction with the Purchasing Division, is currently examining ways to better encourage local purchasing and support our home-grown businesses.

A few initiatives include our KLTV show, "Lakewood...Open for Business" which can be seen on Channel 8. It can be webstreamed on the links to the right or on Channel 8 at the times below.

We are also developing gift bags to send to every new employee of St. Anthony Medical Campus . The bags will have representation from over 40 locally-owned and operated businesses in order to encourage further exploration of Lakewood's businesses.

An internal "Buy Local" committee of City staff has also been assembled to review and brainstorm ways local business can be encouraged to do business with the City.
