County Programs
Enterprise Zone
Businesses located in the Jefferson County Enterprise Zone have added over $300 million in capital investment and have created over 5,000 new jobs within the Zone.
The Lakewood Enterprise Zone (EZ) is within the Jefferson County Enterprise Zone and covers the commercial property along West Colfax Avenue between Youngfield Street and Sheridan Boulevard, along Sheridan Boulevard between Colfax Avenue and West Alameda Avenue, and extending west along Alameda Avenue to the west side of Wadsworth Boulevard. Businesses located within the EZ may claim Colorado income tax credits for job creation, investment in manufacturing equipment, contributions to EZ plans and for research and development.
The Jefferson County Workforce Center serves employers by accessing qualified and work-ready employees. Working with a company's specific needs and criteria, the Center offers pre-screening of applicants, referrals to publicly funded programs, job fair participation and customized software training. Red
Rocks Training Grants: Red Rocks Community College
(RRCC) also offers a training grant to help employers
keep their employees trained and retained. The program
provides employers with 50 percent of tuition and fees
